Even before forming Education First Cambodia, the founders wanted to improve the educational opportunities for Cambodia's rural poor. This desire was the result of Annette's work in Phnom Penh with the children of poor families that had moved to the capital to work as scavengers at the city's garbage dump. As a result, together with friends and relatives, EFC's founders built an elementary school in a remote area of Prey Veng province -- the province from which many of the children Annette worked with had come. These are some photos from the school's opening in 2012.
