In most cases, the cost for donors to send items such as clothing and shoes, and for EFC to process them through Cambodian Customs, is greater than the cost of purchasing the goods locally in Phnom Penh.
When possible, EFC prefers to purchase items locally so that it contributes to the growth of the Cambodian economy, which creates local jobs and makes the country less dependent on foreign imports and foreign aid. However, if you have specialized goods that you believe it would be worthwhile to send to Cambodia, please contact us at [email protected] so that we can discuss this with you and explain the best methods of shipping. |
If you are visiting Cambodia and have goods that you believe appropriate for either EFC’s children or their families, please contact us at [email protected]. We will let you know if we believe those goods will be of sufficient use that it is worth your trouble in bringing them to Cambodia.
