Junior Scholars Program

In 2024, Education First Cambodia began its Junior Scholars Program. The Junior Scholar Program extends the reach of Education First Cambodia’s programs to the high school level, supporting female students from rural areas in Grades 10, 11 or 12 who are both needy and show great potential.

The Junior Scholars Program helps these deserving students reach university by mentoring the students and supporting their studies for Cambodia’s competitive 12th Grade National Exam, which determines whether they will be admitted to a public university and whether they will receive a university scholarship. The Junior Scholars Program then provides these students with a living stipend for their first year of university, at which point they are eligible to apply to become one of Education First Cambodia’s Women Scholars.
Through the Junior Scholar Program, Education First Cambodia helps exceptional students who would otherwise never make it to university reach their goal of higher education and gives them the chance of receiving additional support as a Woman Scholar.

The cost of changing one of these young women’s lives is astoundingly small by Western standards, only $720 per year. To support a Junior Scholar, click here.
